ALWAYS ALRIGHT NEVER OK!
Set of four original neo expressionistic paintings, of Sleven’s Bally Boggle Headz. Rocking silver grillz, that have a single word adorned into each characters set of grillz. So when aligned or formed into a square, the words read the phrase “ALWAYS ALRIGHT, NEVER OK!”. The set was created for a joint exhibition, titled OUTSIDERS, along with nine other pieces. All the pieces Sleven created for that exhibition were related towards mental health and feeling like an outsider. This particular piece was drawn from the phrase he would often find himself repeating in conversations with people, when asked how he is, especially when intoxicated on the truth juices. The phrase highlights how we often tell people we’re alight, when really we’re not. Usually spoken in a polite manner, to keep up the front of being alright. Using the Balaclavered Headz to portray this phrase, plays on the masking of never being ok. And the shiny silver grillz add extra depth to it by illuminating the politeness on the first part of the phrase that is spun with a silver grin to cover up the pain ‘n’ worries within. A visually playful, yet contemplative piece for any deep thinker and collector alike.
